Off the Books
An off the books workout (or OTB) is any workout that meets the requirements below, but does not appear on map.f3nation.com or on the Locations page. OTB workouts can be anywhere, at anytime, and involve any form of exercise. Generally, OTB workouts are used for preruns, special events, atypical workouts, and exploration for new official workouts (AOs). Only qualifying OTB workouts can be logged in PAXminer.
The below guidelines have been put together to ensure that all non-official workouts adhere to the spirit of F3's mission.
Guidelines
In order for a workout to be considered official, an OTB workout must:
Be free of charge
Be held outdoors
Be open to all men
Be peer-led
End in a circle of trust (COT)
OTB workouts occurring immediately prior to a standard workout (e.g. preruns) are exempt from this requirement.
Involves 2 or more men
This means if you organize an OTB workout, and no one else shows up, unfortunately, it does not count.
For the acceleration of our region and the improvement of me, an OTB workout should:
Be at least 45 minutes
This time includes warmups, cool downs, and an appropriate amount of fellowship
Be promoted in Slack as early as is reasonable
Have a shovel flag present
Start with the F3 disclaimer, mission, and principles
Have a backblast posted in Slack in the #ao_off-the-books channel
All efforts should be made to ensure OTB workouts do no detract from official workouts. If it does, Q of the OTB workout should coordinate with affected Site Qs.
